Built in 1895 the first Bristish Resident's son, E.W. Birch, to commemorate the assasinations of his father. J.W.W Birch, tow decades earlier. It also has a bronze bust of the elder Birch and stands next to the old post office. There is a stall beside the tower offering an Ipoh Speciality which is soft-boiled eggs on toast.
