On Friday I had the pleasure of going to No Black Tie in KL popularly known as NBT.  As you walk in there is the bar area with a few tables. We ordered a bottle of Black Label Whisky which was RM300 plus. We had a few drinks then eagerly waited for the Brazillian Band to start in the concert hall. We paid RM20 cover charge each and went it with our drinks and sat down near the stage.  The performance was led by a guitarist/vocalist and two percussionist. Badar the percussionist performed the Box Percussion also know as the Cajon Box Drums. There was another percussionist who performed the tambourine and various other percussion instruments. Cheong Lee played the guitar brilliantly and sang in Portugese. Coincidentally Cheong Lee hails from Pasir Puteh Ipoh and went to the same school as me (ACS Ipoh). He spent many years in Brazil perfecting his art before returning to Malaysia. We definetely hope to have them in Jazz & Bits Soon.
